Our church has a keen sense of mission. We are committed to local/global mission in the name of our Savior. The following are examples of ways we reach out:

• New Operation Cooper Street - tutoring children and other support
• Support local Food Pantries
• Charlotte County Homeless Coalition - financial help and weekly feeding program
• Port Charlotte Women’s Club - treats for troops/mailing expense
• Disaster relief - home rebuilding after Hurricane Charley
• Habitat for Humanity

• Peace River Presbytery - Cedarkirk retreat funding
• Eckerd College - Presbyterian student scholarships
• Disaster relief - home rebuilding in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina
• Immokalee Beth El Farm Workers - monthly trips to feed & clothe migrant workers

• Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM) - earthquake relief and support
• HOM - Blanchard Christian High School construction in Cite Soleil
• HOM - on site mission teams in clinics, schools and residences (video)
• Campus Crusade for Christ - youth ministry in Russia
• Mission Aviation Foundation - support aviator missionaries worldwide
• Marion Medical Missions - drilling deep wells in Africa
We can't ask members to tithe without being an example of such giving. We make certain that our discretionary giving is at or above a tithe ... not counting special seasonal offerings or events. Burnt Store Presbyterian Church ... reaching up (in worship, prayer and adoration), making disciples (as we know, love and follow Jesus) and changing lives (as God directs our witness and our work).
