Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Please feel free to drop by and join our group. We meet every Thursday at noon in the board room next to Stewart Hall.
Burnt Store Presbyterian Church ranks only behind hospitals and schools in blood donations in Charlotte County and is committed to continue to help meet the critical need for blood donations. Blood transfusions literally save the lives of patients within a couple of days. The turn-around is that fast, the need is constant. The supply of all blood types continually reaches extremely low levels due to high usage. There is always a need for all blood types. Any person who is eligible to donate and wishes to join one of our Blood Donor Teams is urged to register below. All donors receive a complementary gift and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening. Click here to make an appointment or by e-mail to the blood donation coordinator. To learn more about the importance of blood donation visit www.oneblood.org. Visit our EVENTS page for dates/times/location for this and other church happenings.
Our very active Board of Deacons totally devotes its time and energy to pastoral care. Each of our 27 deacons has a portion of the congregation for which he or she is responsible. This responsibility is to keep a finger on the pulse of each family, assist them as needed (and as the deacon is able) and to report information to the pastoral staff in order for them to respond. While this Shepherding Program is the mainstay of the Board, it is also involved in chancel flower delivery, transportation for sick and shut-ins and food delivery for the sick, shut-in or recently bereaved.
